Many people have asked this in the GPC Discussion group. How to add comments???
Well this came up as a fictional idea but I realized that it was an excellent idea that when used properly could be an excellent resoursce.
Say you use your site for blogging, or atleast something like
that. Then you most definitely need comments. And what better way to do
it then with Blogger. I tried it and it works, pretty good. I just
didnt get the comments counter to work, since I am not sure what code
is the one that counts the posts.
It is really simple and involves the follwing steps.
- Open a blogger account, preferably with your page title.
- Then go to the settings panel and open comments.
- Set who can comment to "Anyone" (compulsory), backlinks to Hide (atleast I did), set show comments in pop up window to "Yes" as that is the best way to keep the user on your site, dont show word verification, and I recommend not showing the images.
- Now make a new post by saving the changes and going to "Posting", and the title matters but the content does not. Make the title the same like the one that is on your page and just write something like "Comments for TOPIC on my site. (LINK TO YOUR SITE), and then publish it.
- Then view your blog and right click on the comments link of your post. The select copy link location, if using Firefox, if not then something similar to that.
- Then put a link under the post on your site that will go to the link that you just copied.
- Check out the test page for how I have done it.
Things to remmember are that the title has to be like the one on your site. You should make the comments pop up in a new window a not just open in the same tab window. And put a link to your site on the blog, someone may see it and will see that there is not content but if you have a link you just might get him to visit you. If your site is good, he will visit over and over again.
